Unscheduled Samba Outage

As of As of 1:45pm this afternoon, systems staff have completed patching the samba servers used to access storage systems. You should now be able to connect to samba.rcac.purdue.edu for samba access to home and scratch directories and fortress-smb.rcac.purdue.edu for samba access to fortress. If you have used data.rcac.purdue.edu for samba access please switch to samba.rcac.purdue.edu.

As of 11am this morning, April 11th, systems staff determined that the samba servers used to access home, scratch, and fortress storage have a critical vulnerability. As a result we are working on getting these servers patched as soon as possible. You may experience issues connecting to samba.rcac.purdue.edu and fortress-smb.rcac.purdue.edu for the next few hours.

Another notice will be sent at 2pm or earlier. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.
