The Steele Linux cluster will be unavailable from 8am Tuesday, August 4, through 6pm Wednesday, August 5, for an operating system upgrade from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Only those PBS jobs with walltimes short enough that they will finish prior to the beginning of this maintenance period are being scheduled for execution -- jobs with longer walltimes will be held in the input queue until the operating system upgrade has been completed.
Update: The Steele cluster's upgrade to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5) has been completed and PBS job scheduling was resumed at 6pm Wednesday, August 5. Although many applications compiled prior to the upgrade will continue to work, Steele users are encouraged to recompile their applications for best results.
Please refer questions about the upgrade and/or problem reports to rcac-help@purdue.edu.
