Acceptable Front-End System Use
Front-end or login node systems for RCAC clusters and other shared computational resources are provided only for use in job submission and coordination. Users should never use these systems to run applications or do computational work. Use of memory and CPU on these systems should be kept to a minimum, as all users of the cluster or resource must share these systems. Any work or applications may be submitted to a queue for processing by a node of the cluster or resource when it finds enough idle capability to satisfy the job requirements.
Any processes found running on a front-end or login node which are using significant resources may be terminated without warning.
