Student Liaison at HUBzero

Brief: Do you enjoy working with people? Can you provide technical support to end-users? Seeking students knowledgeable in customer support or helpdesk environments to recreate issues, write instructional documentation, and test functionality of hub features. You will work under experienced liaisons.
Description: The Hub Liaison is the primary contact between HUBzero and hub owners, faculty, staff and students. This position will focus on the analysis and resolution of hub owners’ needs, including training on hub administration, uploading content, configuring hub components, documenting end user training guides, representing hub owners’ requirements. Ensure requirements are incorporated into HUBzero technical solutions and to determine other hub user needs. Give presentations on HUBzero, develop training programs designed to promote best practices in hub owners on new functionality and conduct one-on-one consultations with hub owners, faculty, staff and students.
Experience:
  • Computer Technology, Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Business, or related field
  • Two years of experience in one or more of the following areas: web development, end-user support, customer service, or training development/delivery
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience
  • Experience working with faculty and instructors or providing technology support to faculty in a university environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Professional demeanor that reflects a strong customer focus
  • Ability to work in one-on-one small group situations with faculty and administrative staff
  • Initiative and ability to help customers with a wide range of skill levels
  • Knowledge of web development (Joomla, Wordpress, HTML)
  • Previous help desk or call center experience
Majors / Year: All majors. Preferably Freshman or Sophomore.
Hours: 10–20 hours per week, classes permitting, during normal business hours.
Pay: Commensurate with experience.
