Let the Envision Center develop a visual pathway into your research data to discover and communicate innovative results.
At right is a video of some of our data visualization and analysis work, and below are some of our past projects.
Working with Professor Cary Troy of Civil Engineering, the Envision Center took data collected by a robotic mini-submarine and created a 3D model of Lake Michigan. This data would normally be displayed as a series of numbers or 2D plots, making it difficult to visualize as a whole. Using data visualization techniques, the Envision Center's interactive 3D model of Lake Michigan allows exploration of both temperature and water currents over a period of time. This enables information to be more readily understood and introduces new methods for interpreting the data.
