This newly created workshop explores campus research computing roles. The workshop builds on the Campus Champions’ history and leverages the recent Research Computing and Data Professionals Job Elements and Career Guide that was developed by the March 2018 NSF-sponsored Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC) workshop.

Windows-based Workflows on Linux-based Beowulf Clusters Paper

In this paper we describe a general solution and three successful use-cases using Microsoft Windows Virtual Machines in both interactive and non-interactive batch jobs on Linux-based Beowulf-style clusters to complete workflows based on Microsoft Windows software.

Developing a Collaborative Hydrological Modeling Platform Paper

In this session, we will showcase the main features of these hydrologic modeling tools, their interoperation with other CI systems, and how they work together to facilitate collaborative SWAT workflows across system boundaries.

Social Media Modeling of Human Behavior in Natural Emergencies Paper

In this paper, we describe our extensible, distributed, real-time data collection and analysis pipeline that combines public streaming data from the National Weather Service and Twitter for subsequent exploration and analysis, including risk behavior modeling.

This BoF is designed to share solutions to common problems, provide a platform to discuss upcoming technologies, and present state of the practice techniques so that HPC centers will get a better return on their investment, increase performance and reliability of systems, and researchers will be more productive.
