[RCAC Invited Talks] WHPC Guest Presentation of Ying Zhang and Zoey Mertes

We are excited to announce the revival of the WHPC speaker events, where we invite guests to share their work, research, and experiences. This month’s talk is on Apr. 15th at 2pm and will feature two guests:

Ying Zhang is currently the AI Support Team Lead in the Research Computing at the University of Florida (UFRC) providing AI consultations to research groups and managing UFRC's AI services. She founded the UF Chapter of Women in HPC in 2020 and have organized campus wide activities to advance the participation of women in HPC. Ying received her MS in Computer Science from Northeastern University. After graduation, she worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Renaissance Computing Institute as a Senior Research Programmer, developing software applications in high-performance computing and managing research projects. In 2011 She joined UFRC and Ying will talk with us about her journeys in the HPC field.

Zoey Mertes is an undergraduate student studying Network Engineering Technology at Purdue. She has been a student employee in research computing for almost three years whereshe has been working on a filesystem indexer and cloud computing. She will talk about her experience at Purdue.
