Can you introduce yourself and share a little about who you are? Hello! My name is Ankitha Mallekav and I’m a senior working at RCAC as an HPC Research Assistant.

What are some of your main interests or passions? Some of my main interests includes Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning!

Can you tell us about your role at RCAC? What does your job entail? I am a High-Performance Cluster research assistant. In this role, I handle user tickets and work on projects for RCAC.

What do you enjoy most about working at RCAC? I enjoy the opportunity to work on high-performance computing systems and contribute to real-world problem-solving. Supporting researchers and optimizing computing workflows has given me valuable hands-on experience with system troubleshooting, automation, and performance optimization. The collaborative environment at RCAC has also allowed me to develop technical skills while making a meaningful impact on Purdue’s research community.

Tell us more about your favorite project you like to show off! Project title: Natural Language-Powered Python Code Editor Project description: I developed a Python code editor where users can write code using natural language, and the system automatically translates their descriptions into fully functional Python scripts. The project leverages NLP models to interpret user input, generate executable code, and run it within the editor. This eliminates the need for manual coding, making programming more accessible and intuitive. The system also provides error handling and optimizations based on user intent.

What did you learn from this project? I learned how to integrate NLP for code generation, improve context-aware text interpretation, and handle real-time execution of dynamically generated scripts. Additionally, I gained experience in error correction strategies for AI-generated code.

Did you get to showcase this anywhere? I showcased it for my ECE 495 class.
