Weber Authentication Changes
As part of ongoing efforts to certify Purdue systems as CMMC L2 compliant, authentication to Weber will change during an 8 AM-12 PM maintenance window on March 5th, 2026. After this change, users will use their Luna credentials to login to Weber.
**How does this change impact you? **
The change will simplify logging into Weber. Weber users currently need to authenticate to Luna VPN or VDI with Luna credentials, and then additionally authenticate to Weber with BoilerAD credentials. After this change, users will just need to use their Luna password when logging into Weber resources, including via Thinlinc, SMB, and SSH. Luna password will be the same password as what is currently used to log into the VPN.
During the maintenance window, job scheduling though Slurm and network drive mounts of Weber storage will be unavailable.
Users with existing Thinlinc sessions will not see a disruption in their sessions.
Network drive mounts of Weber storage will likewise not be available during the switchover.
