Original

Rossmann has reached the end of its 5 year lifespan and will be decommissioned on November 2, 2015. This timeline coincides with the five-year warranty of the machine.

Our current timeline for Rossmann retirement is:

  • October 1, 2015: Jobs will no longer be accepted on Rossmann
  • November 2, 2015: Rossmann hardware will be decommissioned

As Rossmann winds down, we encourage you to consider purchasing in Rice https://www.rcac.purdue.edu/compute/rice

Rice is significantly faster, easier to scale, and much more energy efficient.

As we decommission the Rossmann hardware, our plan is to seek bids for the residual value of the hardware and apportion that to the faculty owners - so, for example, if we are able to get $50/node, the value of these nodes would be provided as credit towards an upcoming cluster.

If you have any questions, please contact rcac-help@purdue.edu

Thank you again for your participation in the community cluster program and we look forward to our continued partnership.
