Genomics Essentials is a weekly mini-workshop series focused on core topics like shell scripting, workflow automation, version control, and reproducible documentation. Whether you're just starting or looking to sharpen your skills, this series offers actionable, 30-minute sessions designed for efficiency. No fluff, just the essentials.

FAQs

  1. Do I need to register for each session?
    Yes. Please register individually using the links in the schedule above.
  2. Will sessions be recorded?
    We will make an effort to record and share sessions when possible.
  3. Is prior experience with HPC or scripting required?
    No prior experience is needed for Basic sessions. Intermediate and Advanced sessions may assume some familiarity with the command line, but we’ll provide context and examples.
  4. Can I ask questions during the session?
    Time for Q&A is limited, but follow-up questions are welcome via email or the Purdue RCD Discord server.
  5. Will troubleshooting be provided during the session?
    No. To stay on schedule, the instructor won’t troubleshoot individual issues live. Support is available after the session through regular RCAC help channels.
  6. Where can I find the materials?
    Slides will be posted on this page. Additional resources will be shared via the Purdue RCD Discord server.
