Fortress Archive Maintenance

  • Maintenance
  • Fortress

The issues with Globus have been resolved, and the Fortress archive is fully restored to normal operations. This concludes this maintenance.

Update: July 19, 2017 9:36pm:

The work on Fortress has been completed and it is in normal production for all uses other than Globus. The Globus gateway for Fortress is still exhibiting some issues, and we hope to have it restored to normal service within the next day.

Update: July 19, 2017 7:53pm:

Engineers encountered some minor issues during this work that has set back the completion time, but work continues and is still expected to be successful this evening. We will post another update by 11:00pm.

Original Message:

The Fortress archive will be unavailable beginning at Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 at 8:00am EDT, for regular maintenance and will return to full production by Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 at 5:00pm. During this maintenance, Fortress will have its networking changed to the new research subnet. This will require an hsi/htar client update.

If you use hsi/htar from RCAC systems, NO CHANGE IS NEEDED. These systems have already been updated to work with the new network.

If you directly access Fortress from hsi/htar on other systems, you will need to update your hsi/htar package and possibly update any firewall rules you may have limiting access to Fortress. You may find updated Fortress software packages here: https://www.rcac.purdue.edu/downloads/archive#hsi

If you have firewall rules specific to Fortress access, please update those to include these nine new IP addresses: 128.211.138.40-48. Note the recent addition of the .40 address to this set.
