Most Major Clusters Stopped

Nearly all major clusters operated by ITaP Research Computing are stopped due to issues with their storage systems relating to the power loss on the West Lafayette campus in the wake of the severe weather Sunday night.

This includes: Conte, Carter, Hansen, Rossmann, Coates, and Peregrine 1.

Update: Conte has returned to normal production operations as of 12:00am, Nov 18.

Update: Coates has returned to normal production operations as of 1:55pm, Nov 18.

Update: Carter has returned to normal production operations as of 2:53pm, Nov 18.

Update: Hansen has returned to normal production operations as of 2:55pm, Nov 18.

Update: Peregrine 1 has returned to normal production operations as of 3:26pm, Nov 18.

Update: Rossmann has returned to normal production operations as of 4:00pm, Nov 18.

All scheduling on these systems has been stopped, so no new jobs may be started. Additionally, the login nodes for these systems have been taken offline until the storage is more stable. Engineers have been working on these systems all night and continue to do so.

We will send email and update this note as these systems come back online. If you have any questions, please contact us at rcac-help@purdue.edu. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
