Major: Learning Design and Technology
Position: Instructional Designer
Can you introduce yourself and share a little about who you are? Hello! My name is Koki Motoi and I’m a grad student working at RCAC as an Instructional Designer.
Can you tell us about your role at RCAC? What does your job entail? Currently, I’m an Instructional Designer, who works on designing, creating, and evaluating learning materials for RCAC workshops and learning platforms online. My major project is to build a learning platform on BrightSpace, including learning materials and assignments.
What do you enjoy most about working at RCAC? Collaborating with tech experts like the software application team is so much more fun than working individually. They are so supportive and diligent. I’m always excited to work with them.
Tell us more about your favorite RCAC project! The mission of the RCAC Instructional Design project is to integrate instructional design principles into RCAC’s educational practices such as in-person workshops or online trainings. For this purpose, I evaluate and propose amendments to workshop trainers so they can make workshops more engaging and interactive. I'm also working on developing a new online learning module on BrightSpace to help beginner users of HPC. I showcased some instructional design models at a weekly synchronous meeting.
