Update: September 23, 2015 8am

Shortly after 2am, Engineers were able to complete the file transfer and return Carter back to production.

Update: September 22, 2015 11pm

The file transfer continues and will last well into the night. The next update will occur tomorrow morning.

Update: September 22, 2015 7pm

Engineers are continuing to migrate data from the old scratch filesystem onto the new resource. The transfer is taking longer than expected and the next update will come by 11pm.

The Carter cluster will be unavailable on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 7:00am - 7:00pm EDT, for scheduled maintenance. The cluster will return to full production by Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015 at 7:00pm EDT.

During this time, Carter will see an upgrade to its network infrastructure, a new scratch file system and operating system patches. More information can be found here: Storage and Network Upgrades for Carter Cluster

Any PBS jobs which request a walltime which would take them past Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015 at 7:00am EDT will not start and will remain in the queue until after the maintenance is completed.
