Genomics Exchange: Spring 2026
Objective:
Genomics Exchange is a biweekly discussion-focused mini-workshop series designed to help researchers develop stronger intuition, habits, and workflows for genomics and bioinformatics. Rather than tool-centric tutorials, these sessions emphasize how experienced bioinformaticians think about data, structure projects, evaluate quality, and make methodological decisions. Each 30-minute session is practical, opinionated, and grounded in real-world research computing environments.

FAQs
- Do I need to register for each session?
Yes. Please register individually using the links in the schedule above. - Will sessions be recorded?
Recording availability will vary by session. When recordings are available, they will be linked on this page. - Is this a lecture or a discussion?
Sessions are structured discussions with examples, live commentary, and practical guidance rather than step-by-step tutorials. - Is prior experience required?
Basic sessions assume no prior HPC or scripting experience. Intermediate sessions assume familiarity with command-line workflows and genomics data. - Can I ask questions during the session?
Yes, though time is limited. Follow-up discussion is encouraged via email or the Purdue RCD Discord server. - Will troubleshooting be provided?
No live troubleshooting will be done to keep sessions focused. Support is available through standard RCAC help channels.
