The Rice cluster will be taken down on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at 8:00am EDT for a planned upgrade to CentOS7. This process is expected to take two days, and Rice will not return to service until 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018.

This upgrade may affect applications you have built yourself and will also include changes to existing applications. More information about this upgrade, including how to test your work in advance through a testing queue, is available in the announcement article "Rice Upgrade to CentOS7".

Any jobs which would not complete before Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at 8:00am EDT will be held in the queue until after the maintenance.
