Unscheduled Math data center cooling outage

As of 8:07pm EST, after data center cooling system issues had been successfully mitigated, the Anvil, Bell, Gilbreth, Halstead, Workbench, and Data Depot clusters have been returned to normal service. Job queues have been enabled and job scheduling has been resumed. We apologize for the disruption of service. Please report any issues to rcac-help@purdue.edu.

As of 6:00pm, data center cooling system issues were mitigated. Engineers are working on bringing affected clusters and infrastructure back to normal service. Job queues are being gradually enabled.

We will provide another update by 9pm.

The Math building data center began experience issues with its cooling system around 11:40am EST. As one of manifestations, users may experience issues while logging in to the Anvil, Bell, Gilbreth, Halstead, Workbench, and Data Depot clusters. To minimize thermal load on the cooling infrastructure, job scheduling has been paused while data center engineers and physical facilities crew are diagnosing the issue and are working to identify a fix.

We will provide an update by 6pm.
