Weber VPN security change

  • Announcements

As Purdue makes strides for Weber to meet CMMC compliance, part of that process is to ensure known hosts are connecting to Weber over the VPN. To that end, we have been collecting the MAC addresses of all VPN users of Weber for the last three months. Your MAC address will now be used as another factor in authentication.

Starting October 28th, your MAC address will be verified before the VPN will be established. This means that if you have not connected to the Weber VPN in over ninty days, you will need to open a ticket to have your MAC address added to the system. New users after October 27th will not need to take action, as recording your MAC address will be part of the onboarding to Weber process.

Again, after October 27th, if you are experiencing issues connecting to the Weber VPN, please open a ticket for resolution.
