Tutorials & Documentation
The RCAC Bioinformatics Tutorials Site is a centralized hub of step-by-step guides and HPC-optimized workflows for Purdue researchers. It includes:
- Tutorials for tools such as HiFiasm, BRAKER3, Helixer, Juicer, and more.
- End-to-end workflows for genome assembly, annotation, and transcriptomics.
- Best practices for job submission, resource optimization and troubleshooting on Negishi, Bell, Gautschi, and other RCAC clusters.
- Custom installation guides and environment setup instructions (R, Python, Perl, VS Code Remote SSH, Nextflow, etc.).

Current Events
The Genomics Exchange (Spring 2026), is a biweekly, 30-minute computational genomics discussion series hosted by RCAC. The series is designed to encourage shared learning around best practices, data quality, reproducibility, and modern genomics workflows, with an emphasis on practical experience over formal instruction. See more information here.
RCAC Hands-On Genomics Workshops (Spring 2026) are full-day, in-person training sessions that provide practical, end-to-end experience running genomics analyses on RCAC systems. Workshops emphasize real datasets, real workflows, and reproducible research practices. See more information here.
Past Events
Genomics Essentials (Fall 2025), a weekly 30-minute mini-workshop series hosted by RCAC, is designed to equip researchers with practical skills for computational biology and HPC. Sessions focus on efficient data analysis, workflow automation, and reproducible research practices. See more information here.
The Genomics Exchange (Spring 2025) , a weekly computational biology discussion series sponsored by RCAC. This initiative aims to foster a collaborative environment for genomics researchers, computational biology enthusiasts, and students to explore foundational and emerging topics in genomics.
