Zach supports Research Computing's community clusters and has a passion for tackling challenging projects. In his role as research solutions engineer, he develops solutions for computing problems researchers encounter and is the acting security officer for Research Computing. Before joining the team in 2019, Zach had been a full stack developer for the HUBzero project while it was at Purdue, designed and built equipment implemented by scientists in energy conservation research, and was a network administrator for a regional ISP.
When not working with Purdue’s supercomputers, Zach builds his own keyboards, enjoys hobbyist electronics, and has recently taken an interest in astrophotography. Zach and his wife enjoy travelling, hiking, and time with their pets.
