Globus Endpoint Retirement

  • Announcements

The original RCAC Globus endpoint purdue#rcac (also known as the "Purdue University Research Computing endpoint") will be retired on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.

Accessing RCAC resource through Globus has been a huge success! However, this had overburdened the original systems created for this and pointed out architectural issues with having all our storage accessible through a common endpoint. With those lessons in mind, the purdue#rcac endpoint has since been replaced by Globus endpoints for specific storage resources, such as purdue#depot, purdue#home, purdue#halstead, purdue#rice, purdue#snyder, purdue#conte, etc. These new endpoints have been operating for some time now and have proven to offer far better performance and stability than the old purdue#rcac endpoint.

If you had shared or created any custom endpoints within purdue#rcac, you will need to recreate these under the appropriate new, specific endpoint. Please see a step-by-step migration process guide.

If you have any questions about how to update your use or how this will affect you, please contact us at rcac-help@purdue.edu.
